Anyone who owns a Toyota Sequoia w/ factory JBL speakers knows, the stock speaker will disintegrate eventually. Replacements are either ridiculously expensive or just don’t exist. This is definitely the best and cheapest option.
However, you will have to do a bit of modifying but nothing too extreme. The mounting holes in the door are oddly spaced, meaning to provided adapter will not fix. The best option I’ve seen (as well as many others) is cutting off the bracket of the stock speaker and mounting it to the provided adapter. The stock speaker bracket is thin metal and easily removed with a cutoff dremel tool. I then used sheet metal screws to mount the adapter to the stock bracket. It will take a bit of adjusting, I had to cut off some of the tabs and drill one or two holes on the adapter to align the holes, but it really wasn’t that bad. I also used Silicon between every mating surface just to prevent vibrations.
The results are amazing, paired with a new head-unit w/ pre-amp, I hardly turn it up above 50% for mirror shaking power.I didn’t bother replacing the tweeter, since mine were still in good condition. Plus I didn’t feel like installing the crossover since the stock amplifier probably has one included (I think).
In all, great product and highly recommended for anyone with a Sequoia w/ factory JBL
Great speakers, I installed it on a 1998-2001 Toyota Sienna with factory head unit. The installation was easy and crossovers are sized perfectly to be hidden behind the door panels. For customers who wish to install on a Toyota, the adapter provided by JBL does not match with many Toyota’s factory drilled holes. I’d recommend purchasing the adapter from http://www.amazon.com/Aftermarket-6-5-Inch-Plastic-Speaker-Adapter/dp/B007ZQGZWO . The audio quality is great as expected and I have switched the tweeter setting to -6db after reading others’ suggestions. I am also planning to replace the rear factory speakers to a JBL GTO628 and it would be much easier than the front speaker replacements. This is because the only thing that has to be removed are the speaker grilles. I will update after working on the replacement.
Great replacement speaker for my 2001 Toyota Sequoia with JBL stereo. Factory were blown and options are limited due to the JBL system. Easy install. I would recommend to anyone.
I installed this speaker system about a month ago, it came with two mids and two tweeters. The two mids and one tweeter are still working fine but one of the tweeters already blew out! I am extremely upset about how long they lasted me for $80. If you’re looking for a dependable speaker system I would keep looking.

Consider below 1 foot^3 box space. and Power amp 125w x4 channel Overall is great but this is not for POP or easy listening music Dance Trance Rock Hiphop everything that should consume loud. It is the charactor. The strong voice mid and high is emphasized. Love it in somehow with its quality eventhough it made in China, i put the volume far end pretty high volume show off. Never heard any failure from them. Various mount of tweeter.Very worth for money.
